There is always hope

Wednesday, January 27th, 2016

A fellow therapist once said, she didn’t like hope and described hope as something intangible, something for a distance future with no real place right now. Although I was able to understand her view, I disagree. I am a realist but, believe there is always hope. Hope helps develop a promising future. Big or small, hope can be a catalyst for change, growth and motivation.

Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for an occurrence that is good. So if something good, is a wanted outcome, hope allows the opportunity to take definite steps for it to come about. With the work and effort required, hope could lead to success, a dream realized.

Hope can be a wish, a want or a desire, yet turn hope in to an ambition, aim or a plan and hope can serve us all to achieve.

In the past there has some ground breaking moments of hope shared through speeches and creating change. Hope can become a reality with the belief that something good may happen.

With a belief in freedom for humanity, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr spoke of a promise of “unalienable Rights” of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Inspiring many as he stated: “And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream.” – His dream, was his hope and desegregation continued momentum, enforced segregation now being a thing of the past.

Closer to home and on our shores, an address by David Morrison, made back in 2013, calling on men to accept women as equals in the military. His need for a unified force being the driver and instilling hope for the women in a predominately male field.

Then, more recently, a thought provoking (and conversation making) speech by Stan Grant, delivered during an IQ2 debate in 2015, with his hope (want) that: “one day, I want to stand here and be able to say as proudly and sing as loudly as anyone else in this room, Australians all, let us rejoice”.

Now in 2016, Australian of the Year, David Morrison delivered an acceptance speech sharing his hope (desire) for diversity of gender, sexuality and race; gender equality including closing the pay gap and his hope for change in republican movement, an Australian head of state: “so that we can stand both free and fully independent amongst the community of nations”.

Hope can be Inspirational, thought provoking and Leading to Change. There is value in hope; How many time has someone been happy when they have lost all hope? Rarely! And what is the expression that some has when telling you about a hoped for outcome coming to fruition? A smile, a twinkle in the eye maybe…

Finding some hoped for outcome, or a light at the end of the tunnel, can help give you purpose. Hope can lift low spirits. Although hope may not suddenly take you out of the depths of depression, if you start with a little and then it builds and starts to manifest, you are less likely to remain in lowered state all of the time.

“As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same”…. “I am not an optimist, but a great believer of hope” – (Nelson Mandela) – to that I have to agree!!

Remember don’t stop at hope,  do something with it… 🙂

Educational Performance Program (EPP)

Sunday, August 9th, 2015

The Educational Performance Program abbreviated to EPP, is a student’s self-mind management technique of focus attention to maximise their academic performance.

We know the pressures of academic success and no one wants to fail, so this three part program helps students achieve the best outcome from their studies and performance on exam day. The program is primarily centred on minimising exam stress and gaining the most from their studies.

The pressure of the results of tests and exams in shaping a student’s future, can be disabling and have a negative impact on performance, motivation and confidence; what the Educational Performance Program (EPP) does, is strengthen a student’s ability.

We all at some stage may have experience mental blanks or clouded thoughts, and the last thing we want is to experience that at a critical moment!

It is important to note that poor academic performance can also be attributed to a sense of apathy, depression, anxiety and behavioural issues in students, all of which can be improved with this program.

In offering the Educational Performance Program, students are taught simple and direct processes to eliminate non supporting thoughts, actions and emotions that limit their best chance at success. In turn, helping a student’s wellbeing with a strong sense of themselves.

In the UK school and educational establishments, Sheila Granger designed and introduced this step-by-step, tried-and-tested process, to help students build resilience to stress, think more positively and perform at their best when it matters most. I am proudly offering this in Australia.

The Educational Performance Program (EPP) will not only support students in managing stress, it also facilitates the mental strength required for the rest of their lives and provides tools and techniques that supports good mental health long term.

This program is offered as 3 x One hour sessions over three weeks to individuals or small groups.

Contact us at info@fourmilemarkers.com.au for further information or a tailored program for your specific needs. Certified EPP practitioner.

The Purpose of Therapy

Saturday, July 18th, 2015

The purpose of therapy is to provide you with support outside your usual circle on any problems you may be facing.

Therapy is structured way of working through issues and can help you in understanding yourself better or find a resolve to the circumstances you may find difficult to manage in an open, safe and nonjudgmental environment.

As a trained professional, my goal as a therapist is to ease the burden of your situation and ensure you are empowered with the ability to work through issues. In empowering you, you are well equipped to manage your own wellbeing in the long term and gain skills for life.

As therapy is a process to achieve a resolution to a situation, feeling, emotion or problem currently impacting your ability to function at your best, therapy provides the space for you to openly discuss issues in a confidential and safe setting.

A good therapist will apply the use of theory principles and approaches to facilitate your best outcome in a supportive way; always focused on your needs, desired outcome and time frame.

How to select the right therapist?

The right therapist for you will allow you to take path that best suits you for a successful long term result, you and the therapist will have a clear outcome goal, mutual understanding and expectation.

Ask yourself, what does it feel like for you to sit with the therapist?

What is the therapist’s general philosophy and is the approach in a compassionate and optimistic way? (It’s important for a therapist to provide hope but not absolute unconditional guarantees.)

Is it clear how the therapist can help you to solve whatever issue or concern? Or does the therapist have experience helping others with that particular issues?

Does the therapist adhere to ethical principles, confidentiality, supervision and professional association?

Here’s a checklist to further help you make the right selection:

I hope you have found this information useful and get the most out of your therapy session.

The Liquid Crystals

Sunday, July 5th, 2015

The Liquid Crystals is the modern form of holistic healing with crystals giving us the opportunity to work with minerals from ancient Altantian times.  The liquid crystals offer the balance of Love, Power and Wisdom uniting us in mind, body and soul to all that is; oneness.

At the rate that we are currently evolving, the time is right to engage in this powerful growth modality.

Working with the liquid crystals offers a pathway to ascension, the Tree of Life; a carbon/silicon connection from molecular structure; connection to light gridlines of earth; Aligning with our 7 physical Chakras (Crown/Knowing, Third Eye/Awakening, Throat/Expressing, Heart/Allowing, Solar Plexus/Trusting, Sacral/Living, Base/Grounding) and delivering purpose, empowerment and wellbeing.

Unlike a physical crystal piece that holds the vibration of one specific location, the Liquid Crystals are a form of energetic medicine from multiple crystals located around the world and united as one powerful source.

The 77 crystals are a combination of Planetary, Solar, Lunar and Universal energies following the laws of alchemy and incorporating sacred geometry. A powerful tool of Pleiadian, Lemurian and Atlantian processes to spiritual, mental and emotional aspects of self that can be healed and developed; replicating our internal geometry to good health.

The Liquid Crystals can facilitate wellness in so many ways.

Contact us at info@fourmilemarkers.com.au to aid in your journey with the dynamic nature of healing that is the liquid crystals.

Many thanks to Justin Moikeha Asar for making The Liquid Crystals available to us.
